I am often asked, “What do you do at Source?” Although it seems simple after so many years, I am always reminded that what we do can be complicated, difficult and thankless, but always challenging, extremely rewarding and never boring. Source was born out of my family’s love and success of the shipping business starting with my uncle, John Ford and his Miami to South America shipping operation.

In 2001, I started my own journey with Direct Source Imports, a Charleston-based exotic wood import operation that quickly became one the largest exotic wood importers in the nation. Today, Source Consulting, LLC has expanded our footprint offering global purchasing and logistics services throughout the Caribbean islands, USVI, BVI, Bahamas and the Americas. Our consolidated purchasing and shipping platform offers clients the ability to purchase construction-related supplies and materials (and non- construction) and have them shipped virtually anywhere in the world with one telephone call. Source Logistics remains one of the largest NVOCC licensed freight forwarders serving the Caribbean and has played major procurement and shipping roles in large scale, high end projects throughout the Caribbean islands supporting brands like Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, Westin, Blue Waters, Necker Island, Biras Creek, Christophe Harbor, J.W. Marriott, and many more.

Domestically, Source Building Supply & Design and Source Kitchen & Bath handles the needs of our homeowners, developers, builders, and DIYer’s in the Mt. Pleasant, Charleston, Ion, Daniel Island, Kiawah Island, Folly Beach, Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, Summerville and coastal region. Our direct to factory access to hundreds of premium building materials and kitchen lines seamlessly combined with our award-winning team is perfectly positioned to offer a unique and easy new residential or commercial design and selection experience.

My business and travels have afforded me an opportunity to visit some of the most spectacular places and projects in the world. I have met some incredible people and interesting characters. One thing is for sure, whether I am serving our clients in the Caribbean or on Kiawah Island, I am truly blessed to do what I love.
